We solve many customers’ problems by phone but if the machine simply won’t work there comes a time when we need to be on site. Once a fault is diagnosed we always give a likely cost of repair before proceeding. In some cases we can arrange loan machines while repairs are carried out.

Below are solutions to a few of the common problems encountered with cash registers. Try these things first, if they solve your problem we’re glad to have helped.
If you can’t solve your problem then e-mail us and we’ll try to help you. Allow us a working day to reply. We will try to send a solution by e-mail if we can. If not we will e-mail you a phone number, ours if we can help you over the phone or a local dealer if you need help on the spot.

Lights on but no action. The machine beeps when keys are pressed but the display doesn’t change or shows an error message. This is normally due to an incomplete action in another mode such as X or Y. Press clear to stop the beep then turn the key through each mode in turn pressing clear in each position. If there is still no joy try taking X or Z reports.
Drawer doesn’t open or won’t stay closed. Check under the machine. If you keep the manual under there make sure it is not fouling the release catch. Open the drawer using the release catch (underneath at the back). Take out the insert and lift out the drawer. Check for £20 notes wrapped round the mechanism.
Samsung/Sam4s dot matrix machines - display says PP, machine won’t operate. The printer is jammed. This sometimes happens when you are loading a new till roll if you hold the roll while pressing a feed button. Switch the machine off at the wall. Remove the till rolls & the ribbon and any torn off paper you can see (don’t prod with sharp tools). Switch the machine on at the wall. The printer will move slightly and the display should say 0.00. Re-fit the ribbon & then the rolls.
